Jim Burleson
James Burleson was appointed by the Governor of New Mexico as Cabinet Secretary of the New Mexico Corrections Department, one of the largest state government agencies. His Department is responsible for incarceration, safety and reintegration of 6000+ state inmates and 12,000 probationers/parolees. He oversees the state’s prison system and probation/parole functions by administering the programming staffed by 4,000 employees. Mr. Burleson also serves as the Chairman of the Prison Population Control Commission, and is a Member of the New Mexico F.B.I. Joint Terrorism Task Force.
